India is a very price sensitive automobile market. And it has always been like this. But since last 5-7years, car buyers have started considering the safety of the vehicle too. And it has now become one of the major factors in choosing the right car for a huge section in society. So in this blog we will discuss about the safest cars sold in India under ₹10lakh.


1. Tata Punch: The Tata Punch was introduced on October 20, 2021, in India. Punch can accommodate five people at a time. Depending on the variation chosen, its cost ranges from ₹6.00 Lakh to ₹9.54 Lakh. There are four different versions of the Tata Punch, including Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative.

The 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine that powers the Tata Punch alone generates 84 hp and 113 Nm of torque. Using either an automatic transmission (AMT) or a five-speed manual gearbox, the engine drives the front wheels.

The Tata Punch received a perfect score of 16.45 out of a possible 17 points, earning it a 5-star rating in the adult protection category. With a 4-star safety rating of 40.89 out of a possible 49 points in the child protection category, the car also made an impression. resulting in a 5-star overall safety rating.


2. Tata Altroz: The Tata Altroz was introduced on January 22, 2020, in India. 18 different variats. Depending on the model chosen, its cost ranges from ₹6.34 lakh to ₹10.25 lakh.

The Tata Altroz offers three different engine choices:

->1.2-liter gasoline engine

->1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine

->1.5-liter diesel engine.

Comes equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and a few variations use a DCA transmission.

Projector headlights, LED DRLs, fog lights, a large air dam, 16-inch dual-tone alloy rims, and rear door handles located on the C-pillar are some of the Tata Altroz's exterior highlights. A flat-bottomed steering wheel, a seven-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, mood lighting, a chilled glove box, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto are all included within the Tata Altroz.

Talking about safety, it has anti-lock braking system with brake sway control, electronic brake distribution, corner stability control, dual front airbags, reverse parking camera, ISOFIX, voice alerts, tyre pressure monitoring system, parking assistance, and auto park lock are all included in its list of safety features. And because to these safety measures, it has earned a 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP, making it the first luxury hatchback to do so.



3. Tata Nexon: Tata Nexon ranges from ₹7.69 lakh to ₹14.18 lakh. Various variants of Nexon are offered, including the XE, XM, XM(S), XZ, XZ Plus, XZ Plus dual tone, XZ Plus (O), XZ Plus (O) dual tone, XZ Plus Dark Edition, and XZ Plus (O) Dark Edition.

AMT variants. are: XMA, XMA (S), XZA Plus, XZA Plus dual tone, XZA Plus Dark Edition, XZA Plus (S), XZA Plus dual-tone (S), XZA Plus (O), XZA Plus (O) dual tone, and XZA Plus (O) Dark Edition.

Both gasoline and diesel engine options are offered for the Tata Nexon. The 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 170Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm and 118bhp at 5,500 rpm. The 1.5-liter diesel engine, on the other hand, generates 260Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm and 108bhp at 4,000 rpm. A six-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit are available as transmission choices.

It became the 1st made-in-India vehicle to obtain the highly sought-after 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP was the Tata Nexon. The Tata Nexon received a 5-star safety rating after being crash-tested by the agency. The SUV received 16.06 out of a possible 17 points for the adult occupant protection category. In the category of child occupant safety, the Tata Nexon received 25 out of a possible 49 points. Dual front airbags, ABS, and EBD are just a few of the safety features offered by the Nexon.


4. Mahindra XUV300: In February 2019, Mahindra introduced the XUV300 compact SUV in India. Depending on the variation chosen, its cost ranges from ₹8.41 lakh to ₹14.07 lakh. The Mahindra XUV300 comes in the W4, W6, W8, and W8 versions (O).

A 1.5-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine and a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine are the two possible powertrain options for the Mahindra XUV300. While the latter produces 115 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, the former produces 109 horsepower and 200 Nm. Both an AMT and a six-speed manual transmission are available.

Projector headlights with LED DRLs, a grille with chrome inserts, fog lights, contrast silver-colored skid plates, electrically adjustable ORVMs, LED tail lights, an integrated spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels are some of the Mahindra XUV300's exterior highlights.

Sunroof, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and BlueSense technology, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start-stop, and auto-dimming IRVM are all standard inside features of the Mahindra XUV300.

Seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, cornering brake control, TPMS, all-four disc brakes, seatbelt reminders, impact-sensing auto door unlocking, and speed-sensing auto door locking are among the model's safety features.

The Mahindra XUV300 became Mahindra's first automobile to be given a 5-star safety grade by GNCAP. The highest model of the little SUV includes six airbags among its many other safety measures. In the Child protection, the XUV300 earned a 5-star safety rating with a score of 16.42 out of a possible 17. In the Adult protection category, the car received a 4-star safety rating with a total score of 37.44 out of a possible 49.


5. Honda City: In December 2019, Honda re-released the City to comply with BS6 emission standards. Depending on the configuration chosen, the Honda City costs between ₹9.50 lakh and ₹10 lakh rupees. The City comes in two variations—SV and V—and is powered by a 1,497cc i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The BS6 upgraded City features a style that is reminiscent of the earlier version. The vehicle has LED daytime running lights and four halogen headlamps. Additionally, it has 15-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts. There are five different colour options for the automobile.

Inside, a new 6.9-inch DIGIPAD touchscreen infotainment system with navigation is now available from the Japanese automaker. One variant has a four-speaker audio system, while the top-end model has an eight-speaker setup. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can both be accessed through the infotainment system.

Numerous options, including an electric sunroof, a multi-view rear camera, steering-mounted media and cruise control switches, a Smart Key with a keyless remote, and others, are offered by Honda in the City.

There are 5 different colour options for the Honda City: Golden Brown Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.

Both adult and kid safety features are praised for the fifth-generation Honda City. The ASEAN NCAP awarded the Thai-spec City a five-star rating in a crash test. The Thai-spec City model, which includes four airbags, ABS, ESC, and a blind-spot monitoring system, was assessed by the ASEAN NCAP, a programme that evaluates new cars in Southeast Asian nations.
